Entry Description
Lowell-Indiana State Police Detective Chris Campione filed charges today, Monday, January 23, 2012, on a Valparaiso man on twenty-three felonies: five (5) Class A Felonies, eight (8) Class C Felonies and ten (10) Class D Felonies.
Ryan Schroeder, 26 of Valparaiso, who is currently in the United States Navy based in Jacksonville, Florida, was charged with aiding in Child Molestation, aiding in Child Exploitation, Possession of Child Pornography, aiding in Voyeurism, and aiding in Theft. This investigation is connected to the arrest of Wanatah resident, Tara Tryon. Tryon, 21, was arrested by the Indiana State Police on October, 27th, 2011 on twenty class B felony counts of child molestation.
An investigation was started after receiving information from the Indiana Department of Child Services that a three-year-old child had possibly been molested. LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department also received a tip on the same child. The Indiana State Police and the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department were able to determine that the alleged crime occurred in Porter County. Tryon was arrested and taken to Porter County Jail where she is now out on bail.
Schroeder, a former boyfriend of Tryon, allegedly asked Tryon to do the molestation and also received photos of the child molestation on his cell phone. Schroeder was not in the military during this time.
Special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) arrested Schroeder today in Jacksonville and incarcerated him at the Jacksonville County Jail. He is awaiting extradition back to Porter County.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. |
