Entry Description
January 23, 2012 Update: An investigation which started December 30, 2011 led to an arrest of a Lafayette woman this morning.
Lisa Bell, 43, was arrested by the Indiana State Police this morning at her residence in Lafayette on a warrant from Marion County for Terroristic Mischief. She was taken to the Tippecanoe County Jail where she awaits extradition to Marion County.
Recapping the original investigation: On December 30th 2011, the Indiana Department of Work Force Development, located at the west end of the Indiana Government Center South, received a suspicious package which resulted in the evacuation of nearly 30 state employees. The package was also accompanied by a letter. The letter indicated the package contained a undisclosed and contagious virus. Both items were examined and was determined the package did not contain a threat.
Based upon this investigation, evidence was located which allegedly linked Lisa Bell to the letter and package mailed to the Indiana Department of Force Development.
Charges: Terroristic Mischief Class C felony punishable 2-8 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
Bond: $6500.00
Assisting with this investigation was the US Postal Inspectors office. |
