| [ISP] Two Traffic Stops Land Four People In Jail on Drug Charges |

Entry Description
Dubois and Spencer County: Last night two separate traffic stops along I-64 landed 4 people in jail.
The first traffic stop occurred at approximately 5:35 p.m. when Trooper Trey Lytton stopped a white 1995 Cadillac at US 231 and I-64, near Dale, for a traffic violation. During the stop, a search of the vehicle was conducted and the occupants of the vehicle were found to be in possession of marijuana. The driver, Desiree L. Higgs, 23, Owensboro, KY was also determined to be operating a vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance. Higgs and her passengers were transported to the Spencer County Jail where they were incarcerated.
Then at approximately 10:15 p.m. near the Ferdinand exit, Trooper Phil Lubbers conducted a traffic stop on a Black, 1999, Jeep for an equipment violation. While talking to the driver, Clint L. Brosmer, 23, Bristow, Trooper Lubbers smelled the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. Trooper Lubbers also noticed marijuana and numerous drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Brosmer was determined to be under the influence marijuana and placed under arrest and transported to the Dubois County Security Center.

Possession of Marijuana Under 30 Grams, Class A Misdemeanor
3. Shawn R. Fugett, 26, Owensboro, KY
Possession of Marijuana Under 30 Grams, Class A Misdemeanor
4. Clint L. Brosmer, 23, Bristow
Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Class A Misdemeanor
Possession of Marijuana Under 30 Grams, Class A Misdemeanor
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Class A Misdemeanor
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. |
