[ISP] Vehicle Veers off I-465, Crashes into Building

Entry Description

Indianapolis- During this morning’s rush hour at approximately 8:15 am, Trooper Brent Gulinson responded to a crash in which the vehicle crashed into a business building that borders the interstate.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a black 2007 Ford F-150 pick-up truck was northbound on I-465 near mile post 37(south of the I-69 Exit Ramp) on the northeast side of Indianapolis.  Investigators said the driver of the truck, Marty L. Thomas, 37, Indianapolis, stated he was driving when he lost consciousness and drove down the embankment. The black Ford truck then drove over a fence and into a business parking lot. The truck continued through the lot without striking another vehicle but came to an abrupt stop when it went into a building located at 7222 N. Shadeland Avenue.  The portion of the building that was struck was unused and unoccupied.
