Entry Description
Pendleton - The Pendleton District held an Operating While Intoxicated Saturation Patrol that started on Friday the 27th, around 7 p.m., and ran to 4 a.m. on Saturday the 28th. The purpose of the patrol was to remove impaired drivers from Pendleton District roadways before they caused needless pain, suffering, and death to innocent victims. The Indiana State Police is committed to reducing the number of impaired driving crashes as well as all crashes.
During the patrol Pendleton Troopers made five Operating While Intoxicated arrests and had six criminal arrests (one Minor Consuming Alcohol, One Public Intoxication, Two Criminal Conversions and Two Possession of Drugs.) Troopers wrote 33 tickets (12 for speed) and 76 warnings, and assisted 8 stranded motorists.
In addition Pendleton Troopers assisted with a pursuit that started in Jonesboro in Grant County, helping to stop a Habitual Traffic Violator that was also charged with Operating While Intoxicated and Resisting Law Enforcement.
The Pendleton District covers the eight counties of Delaware, Madison, Randolph, Henry, Wayne and Union as well as Rush and Fayette counties. Motorists are encouraged to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 911. Give a vehicle description, location, and direction of travel. Never follow an impaired driver. |
