Entry Description
Sullivan County—This morning at 7:40, the Indiana State Police and Sullivan County emergency agencies responded to a two-vehicle crash on State Road 48 at County Road 125 East. The crash resulted in no injuries to either driver.
Preliminary investigation revealed a gold, 2005, Kia, Spectra driven by 35-year-old Julie Anderson of Terre Haute, IN., was southbound on CR 125 E approaching SR 48. When Ms. Anderson attempted to stop at the intersection, she had an apparent brake failure. Her vehicle then traveled onto SR 48 and was struck broadside by an eastbound black, 1995, GMC, Jimmy driven by 18-year-old Kaitlyn D. Lewis, of Farmersburg, IN. Both drivers were examined at the scene by Sullivan County EMS and refused any further treatment.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and no citations were issued. Drugs and alcohol were not a factor.
The crash was investigated by ISP Master Trooper Polly Blackburn. Assisting were the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, Hymera Town Marshal, Thunderbird Fire/Rescue, and Sullivan County EMS. |
