Entry Description
Jackson County: Yesterday afternoon eight people suffered
injuries a as result of a two vehicle crash in Jackson County. According to Trooper Matt Holley, yesterday
afternoon at approximately 5:00 p.m. a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by 20 year
old Jared Roark of Seymour was traveling eastbound on S.R. 258 and a 2009 full
size GMC pickup truck driven by 23 year old Kyle S. Halterman of Seymour was
westbound on SR 258. The GMC pickup
started to make a left turn into a private drive when it turned in front of the
Chevrolet Cobalt. The Cobalt and the
pickup collided head on.

Tpr. Holley doesn’t
believe any of the back seat passengers in the Cobalt were restrained. Although no one was ejected, the fact the
passengers were not restrained contributed to their injuries. Tpr. Holley also noted the driveway the GMC
pickup was attempting to turn into was located at the top of a steep
hillcrest. The crash remains under
investigation.
Tpr. Holley was
assisted by Tpr. Chris Lockman, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Jackson
County EMS, Hamilton Township Fire Department, and Indiana University Life
Line. |
