Entry Description
Gibson County – Friday afternoon, July 20, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Indiana State Police Detective Tobias Odom arrested Kacy L. Heath, 43, of Owensville, for Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. Heath was arrested at her residence without incident.
Detective Odom initiated a criminal investigation after receiving information that a 15-year-old Gibson County girl had an abortion in Grant City, IL, without the consent of her legal guardians. During the investigation, Detective Odom revealed the 15-year-old girl became pregnant by Steven King, 21, of Owensville, and had an abortion in February. Further investigation revealed King’s mother, Kacy Heath, 43, of Owensville, allegedly paid for the abortion and provided identification for the 15-year-old so she could have the abortion. Her legal guardians had no knowledge of her pregnancy or the abortion.
King was arrested in April for Sexual Misconduct with the minor in connection to this investigation. He is currently being held on bond in the Gibson County Jail.
Heath is currently being held in the Gibson County Jail on a $7,000 cash only bond.
