New Castle – Tonight around 5:30 p.m. Pendleton Trooper Nick Razor was patrolling in New Castle when he noticed the car in front of him had an expired license plate. He stopped the car in the 2500 block of east bound “Q” Avenue. After speaking with the occupants in the vehicle, Razor became suspicious.
Further investigation revealed the male front passenger, John McCarty, age 47 of New Castle, was in possession of crystallized methamphetamine and an assortment of pills. McCarty was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance, both Class “D” Felonies.
He was also charged with Possession of Paraphernalia, Class “A” Misdemeanor. McCarty was lodged in the Henry County Jail on $12,500 bond.
