[ISP] Child Molest Suspect Arrested

Entry Description
Dearborn County: Earlier today 53 year old Michael Petro of Lawrenceburg surrendered himself to officials at the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center after child molestation charges were filed against him.  The investigation began earlier this month when state police received information from the Dearborn County Division of Children’s Services of alleged child molesting that had occurred sometime during the last year.  The victim was a seven year old female and the allegations resulted in charges of Child Molesting (Class A Felony) and Child Molesting (Class C Felony) being filed and a warrant subsequently issued for Petro.  He is currently being held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
