Entry Description
Warrick County – This morning, July 25, at approximately 11:38 a.m., Indiana State Police and Warrick County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle crash on I-64 at the 31 mile-marker that injured a South Carolina man.
Preliminary investigation revealed Thomas Sorensen, 63, of Fort Mill, SC, was driving his 2005 Safari recreational vehicle westbound I-64 at the 31 mile-marker when the right front tire blew. Sorensen lost control and the vehicle left the roadway on the north side. The RV traveled approximately 200 feet before striking several trees and coming to a final rest on the north side of I-64. Sorensen was also pulling an enclosed trailer with two motorcycles. He was traveling to South Dakota to attend the annual Sturgis Bike Rally. Sorensen was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville where he is currently being treated for a hand injury. Motorists traveling westbound experienced minimal delays.
