Overnight Traffic Restrictions
On North East Side of I-465

INDIANAPOLIS –Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractors will require lane restrictions this week during overnight hours on I-465 on the northeast side.

Walsh Construction, the state’s contractor, is expected to restrict traffic between Allisonville Road and I-69 between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. according to the following schedule.  The schedule is subject to change based on progress and weather.

Wednesday:  The left and center lanes of I-465 in both directions will be restricted.

Thursday:  The right and center lanes of I-465 in both directions will be restricted.

Friday:  The left lane of I-465 in both directions will be restricted.

Saturday:  The left lane of I-465 in both directions will be restricted.

Walsh will be removing temporary overhang supports on the newly opened Allisonville Road bridge over I-465.  For the safety of workers and motorists, traffic will be restricted from travel lanes where work is taking place overhead.

Walsh will also be removing pavement from the left lane of westbound I-465.  Three lanes of westbound traffic are temporarily shifted to the right between I-69 and Allisonville Road in order to reconstruct uneven pavement in the left lane. The ramp from southbound I-69 to westbound I-465 is temporarily reduced to a single lane that merges with the right lane of westbound I-465.  The right lane of I-465 is temporarily not designated as an exit lane to Allisonville Road, but the exit is open.

The traffic configuration is expected to be in place for approximately three weeks during the lane reconstruction. Some additional nighttime lane restrictions should be expected in both directions of I-465 between Allisonville Road and I-69 as work continues in the upcoming weeks. All nighttime traffic restrictions will take place between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
