Entry Description
Anderson – Two Anderson men were arrested last evening as members of the Pendleton Post Meth Suppression Unit followed up on a tip. They had received a tip that a possible meth lab was located in the residence at 2755 W. 12th street in Anderson.
Troopers went to the house around 6:30 p.m., and after getting consent to search, located an active meth lab.
Arrested was Robert Simpson, age 30, of that address. He was charged with Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Class “B” Felony.
Also arrested at the home was Maxwell Ainsworth, age 24 of Anderson. He was charged with Visiting a Common Nuisance, Class “D” Felony. Both men were lodged in the Madison County Jail. Two children in the home were released to relatives. The investigation is ongoing with further charges possible.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Anderson Police Department and Madison County Child Protection Services. Meth Suppression Troopers were busy yesterday as they also processed two trash labs found along roads in Delaware County.
Often times Meth Labs are found as a result of an anonymous tip from a neighbor or friend. Anyone with information about illegal drug use may call the Pendleton Post at 1-800-527-4752, or the Indiana State Police Drug Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756. Tips can be made and kept anonymous. The Indiana Meth Investigation System or IMIS, can also take tips on meth labs. Just go to www.meth.in.gov and click on the “Report Suspected Meth Activity” Link.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. |
