Johnson Co., IN- Two people were transported to Methodist Hospital yesterday afternoon at approximately 3:45 p.m. after being involved in a crash on I-65 SB at the 90mm.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Jason Shaffer, 33, of Greenwood, IN was on the shoulder in a 1986 Cadillac and pulled into the path of a south bound 2013 White Freightliner semi-tractor trailer being operated by Dale Richardson, 59, of Jeffersonville IN. The semi-tractor trailer struck the Cadillac as Richardson swerved to right which caused the tractor and trailer to overturn and come to rest off the west side of the roadway.

Shaffer was able to remove himself from his vehicle. Richardson was extricated from the semi-tractor by emergency workers. Both drivers were transported by ambulance to Methodist Hospital.

Mr. Shaffer was issued a traffic citation for operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance.

Traffic in the area of the 90mm SB I-65 was restricted for several hours while emergency workers investigated the crash and removed the wreckage.
