Entry Description
Gibson County – Friday afternoon, January 18, at approximately 3:40 p.m., Indiana State Police responded to an overturned semi on I-64 eastbound at US 41 that injured a Fort Branch man.
Preliminary investigation revealed Tim Reiken, 50, of Fort Branch, was driving a 2012 Freightliner tractor-trailer too fast while entering the eastbound lanes of I-64 from the US 41 exit ramp. As the vehicle entered the eastbound lanes it rolled over onto its side partially blocking the eastbound passing lane. Reiken was taken to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville where he is currently being treated for a non-life threatening head injury. Reiken was cited for speed too fast to avoid a collision. The eastbound lane was closed for approximately two hours while the tractor-trailer was up-righted and towed away.
