Entry Description
State Sen. Jim Merritt (R-Indianapolis) made the following statement today in response to Gov. Mike Pence’s State of the State Address:
STATEHOUSE (Jan. 22, 2013) – “As Governor Pence mentioned, this is an extraordinary time in the life of our state. Elected officials must face the next year with optimism, knowing that if we pool our efforts and face challenges together, Hoosiers will be better off because of it.
“I, personally, am ready to not only continue working to make a name for Indiana in terms of economic development, but also through reformed criminal penalties that emphasize public safety and fiscal responsibility. As lawmakers and leaders, we have the opportunity to influence how life in Indiana will be improved in 2013. I think many Hoosiers would agree that it should be a year of positivity.”
