Entry Description
State Sen. Brent Steele (R-Bedford) made the following statement today regarding Governor Pence’s State of the State Address:
STATEHOUSE (Jan. 22, 2013) – “For his first State of the State Address, Gov. Pence was surprisingly relaxed and very cordial. Very properly he is fixated on a balanced budget, a notion my fellow Republicans and I have traditionally had no problem with, and one we’ve continued to deliver. It is not easy. There are many needs and wants, but we at the state level know that the amount of money we have to use is finite. We cannot go three years like the Senate in D.C. and never pass a budget. We cannot merely print more money. Money is a reality to us, not mere fiction. Congressman Pence knew that when he was a member of the House, and he knows it now. It must be a comfort to him to have to deal with politicians that live in the real world.”
