Entry Description
Kennard – Shortly after midnight troopers from the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Squad served a search warrant at 231 So. Vine St. in Kennard. The warrant was a result of an ongoing investigation that involved officers from the Knightstown, Shirley, Kennard and Madison County Police Agencies, all working with the Henry County Prosecutor’s Office to develop the case.
When officers arrived at the Kennard home they found a meth lab, but the home owner had fled the scene. He was stopped a short time later in Madison County by deputies and detained. When Meth Suppression Troopers arrived they found another meth lab in the subject’s car, along with Methamphetamine.
Arrested was James Jarrett, age 21 of Kennard. His preliminary charges are Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Class “B” Felony, and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Class “D” Felony. He was lodged in the Henry County Jail. Additional charges will be forthcoming as troopers work through the evidence and decontamination of the scenes.
Often times Meth Labs are found as a result of an anonymous tip from a neighbor or friend. Anyone with information about illegal drug use may call the Pendleton Post at 1-800-527-4752, or the Indiana State Police Drug Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756. Tips can be made and kept anonymous. The Indiana Meth Investigation System or IMIS, can also take tips on meth labs. Just go to www.meth.in.gov and click on the “Report Suspected Meth Activity” Link. |
