[ISP] UPDATE: Greensburg Death Investigation

Entry Description

Greensburg: This morning an autopsy was conducted on 42-year-old Larry G. Dance of Greensburg. The Decatur County Coroner’s Office has ruled this incident a suicide. The preliminary autopsy results have revealed Mr. Dance died of a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound. Final autopsy results will not be available for several weeks.

The Greensburg Police Department has given the following statement concerning the death of Lieutenant Larry Dance: “We are deeply saddened at this sudden, unexpected death of Larry. He has been an officer with our agency since January 1, 1995. Larry was always a professional and loved his job and cared about the people and community he served and will be sadly missed. He is survived by his wife and two teenage daughters.”

The above statement is the only statement which will be made by the Greensburg Police Department concerning this tragic incident and the media is being asked not to contact the Greensburg Police Department for further comment.
