STATEHOUSE (Feb. 1, 2013) – State Sen. Michael Crider (R-Greenfield) recently welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse as Senate pages:
• Alex Branigin, from Greenfield, attends Greenfield Central Junior High School.
• Nick Branigin, from Greenfield, attends Greenfield-Central High School.
• Avery Hale, from Greenfield, attends Greenfield Central Junior High School.
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.
“Spending the day at the Statehouse is a wonderful experience for students interested in learning more about the legislative process,” Crider said. “The page program gives students hands-on experience, letting them tour this lively building and watch proceedings as they happen. I encourage all students from my district to spend a day as a page.”
Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 4.
