Entry Description
STATEHOUSE (Feb. 5, 2013) – State Sen. Ryan Mishler (R-Bremen) recently welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse, where they served as Senate pages:
-
Brandon Styers, from Plymouth, attends La Ville Jr. Sr. High School.
-
Natasha Craft, from Plymouth, attends Lincoln Jr. High School.
-
Aaron Parker, from Plymouth, attends Urey Middle School.
-
Joey Parker, from Plymouth, attends Walkerton Elementary.
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing some debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.
“I really enjoy having students from my district visit the Statehouse and learn about the legislative process,” Mishler said. “As a young kid, I was able to come to the Capitol and serve as a page, myself. It’s a great way to give students a hands-on learning experience about our state government.”
Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 4.
