Entry Description

Boone County, IN- Late this morning at approximately 11:20 a.m., Indiana State troopers responded to a Boone County Sheriff’s Department dispatch of a suspicious vehicle in Whitestown.

The vehicle was located by Zionsville police officers near CR 975 E. and CR 375 S. and a traffic stop was initiated for a seatbelt violation with the assistance ISP troopers and Boone County Sheriff’s deputies.

During the course of the investigation it was discovered that the driver of the vehicle, Devin Antuan Johnson, 29, and the passenger Jerry D. Foster, 31, both of Indianapolis, each had suspended driver’s license and outstanding warrants.

Johnson is wanted out of Clark County on a probation violation for theft and false informing. Foster has an outstanding Marion County warrant charging driving while suspended and possession of marijuana.

Further investigation found that the 2003 Ford F250 pickup truck being operated by Johnson had been reported stolen out of Hancock County. The “dealer plate” on the truck was also found to be reported stolen from an Indianapolis auto dealership. A handgun was also located inside the vehicle. Johnson was further charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of the stolen plate and illegal possession of a handgun. Johnson and Foster were incarcerated in the Boone County Jail.

Troopers reported the two individuals were dressed up as workers with reflective vests, hard hats, and clipboards. The pickup contained a “Men Working” sign and orange cones.

Trooper Brent Gulinson said the pickup was loaded with articles that investigators believe could be from burglaries in the area.

Anyone with information regarding the possible burglaries should contact Boone County Sheriff’s Department Detective Scott Pell at (765) 482-1412.
