Rep. Slager comments on the DCS appointment

Please include the following statement from State Rep. Hal Slager (R-Schererville) in regards to media coverage of the Honorable Mary Beth Bonaventura being named Indiana’s new head of DCS.

STATEHOUSE - “Having served in the Lake County Superior Court Juvenile Division, I am confident that Judge Mary Beth Bonaventura’s experience and perspective on youth issues will serve her well in this new role. She is well respected and fondly thought of in our community, and I have no doubt that she will transition into this role seamlessly. The fresh outlook she brings with her to the Department of Child Services is invaluable, and I am excited to see the direction she takes DCS moving forward.”
