STATEHOUSE (Feb. 11, 2013) – State Sen. Ron Grooms (R-Jeffersonville) recently welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse, where they served as Senate pages:

• Bailey Roney, from Floyds Knobs, attends Highland Hills Middle School.
• Dee Anthony Roney, from Floyds Knobs, attends Highland Hills Middle School.

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.

“I always look forward to having students from our district come visit the Statehouse and learn about the legislative process,” Grooms said. “It is my hope the program gives Hoosier students some insight on important issues facing the state, and encourages them to stay involved in their local government.”

Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 4.
