Entry Description LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Representative Randy Truitt (R-Lafayette) participated in a jobs roundtable today with Governor Mike Pence in Tippecanoe County this afternoon.
The roundtable was held at Subaru of Indiana Automotive in Lafayette.
“I am excited that the governor led this roundtable in my district,” said Rep. Truitt. “Jobs, education and fiscal integrity are our shared priorities. It is encouraging to see the community coming together and having the discussions necessary to realize new economic development opportunities.”
In his State of the State address this past week, Governor Pence spoke on Indiana’s jobs situation. Today, a quarter of a million Hoosiers are out of work and many of them lack the skills they need to succeed. Indiana is addressing this issue by trying to bridge the skills gap facing many of Indiana’s employers in the technology and manufacturing sectors.
“We are working to improve the skills gap to get Hoosiers the skills they need to attain and keep jobs,” stated Rep. Truitt. “I am looking forward to continue working with my fellow legislators and the governor on this key issue facing our state.”
