Entry Description
STATEHOUSE (Mar. 4, 2013) – State Sen. Dennis Kruse (R-Auburn) recently welcomed the following students to the Statehouse to serve as Senate pages:
- Rachel Haynes, from Auburn, attends DeKalb High School.
- Charity Ruegsegger, a homeschool student from Auburn.
- Faye Ruegsegger, a homeschool student from Auburn.
- Sadie Ruegsegger, a homeschool student from Auburn.
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse, touring the historic building, observing debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.
“It’s encouraging to see students from my district taking advantage of this great opportunity,” Kruse said. “My hope is that more students participate in the page program to get a hands-on educational experience in state government.”
Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 4.
