STATEHOUSE (Mar. 4, 2013) – State Sen. Doug Eckerty (R-Yorktown) recently welcomed the following students to the Statehouse to serve as Senate pages:
- Chloe Boots, from Pendleton, attends Pendleton Elementary School-Intermediate.
- Amanda Brothers, from Muncie, attends Muncie Central High School.
- Matthew Brothers, from Muncie, attends Northside Middle School.
- David Crosley, from Lapel, attends Lapel High School.
- Allison Doster, from Selma, attends Wes-Del Middle/High School.
- Sheradan Hill, from Anderson, attends Lapel High School.
- Holden Lawson, from Pendleton, attends Pendleton Heights Middle School.
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse, touring the historic building, observing debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.
“This program is a great opportunity for students across Indiana to get a hands-on look at how bills become law,” Eckerty said. “As always, I encourage those with an interest in government to participate in this rewarding experience.”
Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 4.
