End Date: 3/28/2013End Time: 11:59 PM
Entry Description

Bloomington - Tuesday, just after 7:30 PM the Indiana State Police Meth Task Force in conjunction with the Bloomington City Police Department located a methamphetamine laboratory at 1460 North Arlington Park, Apartment #602. Troopers located an active methamphetamine lab inside the residence along with active reaction vessels, lithium, sodium hydroxide lye, sulfuric acid, ammonium nitrate, Coleman camp fuel, starting fluid and white powder that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Many of these chemicals when mixed together cause many dangers including extreme inhalation hazards, chemical burns, carcinogens, fire and explosion hazards.

Troopers located 2 children inside the residence, ages 4 and an infant less than 30 days old. Troopers determined that the children had been present in the apartment several times while methamphetamine was being manufactured. Child Protective Services were contacted to take custody of the children and assure medical attention was obtained.

Michael Langley, 29, of Bloomington, was incarcerated for the manufacture of methamphetamine and was found to have an active warrant stemming from his arrest for manufacturing methamphetamine in 2012.

Anyone with information about methamphetamine can contact the Bloomington State Police Meth Task Force at (812) 332-4411. This case is a prime example of how an anonymous citizen tip can lead to the dismantling of a dangerous lab and ensure the safety of people and children around it.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
