[ISP] New Castle Meth Investigation Results in Four Arrests

Entry Description

New Castle – This morning around 2 a.m. members of the Pendleton District Meth Squad, along with members of the State Police ERS (Emergency Response Section) Team and others served a search warrant on a home at 330 N 18th St. here in new Castle. Members of the Meth Squad had worked closely with the Henry County Prosecutor during the investigation and obtaining of the search warrant.

Arrested as a result of the investigation and warrant was Jeffrey Neal, age 54, charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Class “B” Felony; Possession of the Precursors Used to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Common Nuisance and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, all three being Class “D” Felony charges.

Also arrested at the home was Candace Hiler, age 59, charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Class “B” Felony; Possession of Precursors, Possession of Hypodermic Needles and Illegal Dumping of Methamphetamine Waste, all three being Class “D” Felony charges.

The third arrested was Rusty Campton, age 39, charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Class “B” Felony, and Possession of Precursors, Maintaining a Common Nuisance and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, all three being Class “D” Felony charges.

A fourth person that was arrested was Atysha Berryhill, age 25, charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Class “B” Felony, and Possession of Precursors, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle and Illegal Dumping of Methamphetamine Waste, all three being Class “D” Felony charges. All those arrested lived at the 330 N. 18th address.

Assisting with the investigation was the Henry County Prosecutor’s Office, the Henry County Drug Task Force and the Shirley Police Department. Often times Meth Labs are found as a result of an anonymous tip from a neighbor or friend.
