[DNR] “Fossils Rock” at Clifty Falls SP geology program, March 22

Families can learn about fossils and even collect specimens at a special event offered by Clifty Falls State Park, March 22

“Fossils Rock” starts at 1 p.m. at the nature center. The event begins with an hour-long session indoors on common fossil types in southeast Indiana, how nature produces fossils and the importance of the fossil record.

At 2 p.m., participants will carpool to a site near Madison to collect fossils that are 450 million years old. Participants should bring a shoebox or other container to hold their specimens.

The program is for people ages 5 and older and costs $2 per person. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
