The Creative Placemaking Process in Indianapolis* (Offsite)
Led by Big Car Collaborative, this limited availability morning bus tour will visit some of the current creative placemaking projects in the Indianapolis area. Participants must have a colleague or teammate also in attendance at the workshop sessions and will have the opportunity to reflect and exchange ideas with them. Conversation will focus on the intricacies of the process and the need for organic community buy-in.*The bus tour starts at 9:00 a.m. and lasts until 12:30 p.m.

Working with the Creative Community (Room 2007)
You have artists in your community, and you need them to be part of your creative placemaking process. How do you include them in what you’re doing? Real world examples of how artists have contributed to creative placemaking and practical ways to invite them to have input in your project. This session is designed for community leaders, developers and non-arts professionals. Harrison Center for the Arts

Working with the Public Sector (Room 2005)
Creative placemaking will be impacted by legal requirements, policy mandates and public priorities. How can creative placemakers position themselves to work collaboratively in the public sphere? Includes examples of common legal considerations and issues in creative placemaking and how to prepare for them. Prosperity Indiana

CreatINg Places Office Hour (Room 2003)
Meet one-on-one with Veronica Watson of Patronicity to touch base about an existing project, workshop an idea you have, or get advice about how to execute your project.

Plenary: Significant Transformations (Auditorium)
The story of a small- to mid-size creative placemaking process that resulted in positive transformation for the community. Including why the process has been a success and how the transformation is continuing. Harrison Center for the Arts

How Do We Communicate Success? (Room 2007)
Keep the end in sight from the very beginning. This breakout will include examples of successful and unsuccessful creative placemaking outcomes. Facilitators will challenge participants to determine want success looks like for their community and how they will know if they succeed. Prosperity Indiana

When it's Over (Room 2005)
What happens when the process is over? (Is it ever over?) This breakout will focus on how to transition or maintain the management of your creative placemaking initiative. Increase the life and impact of the creative placemaking process by managing the partner network, planning for maintenance and cultivating leadership in the community. Indiana Tourism Association
