Two new specialty license plates honoring Indiana's military service members will be available in 2010. The POW-MIA license plate remembers all Hoosier veterans who are missing in action or listed as prisoners of war and will be available to any Indiana motorist. The Gold Star Family license plate commemorates Indiana's fallen heroes and will be available to spouses, parents, siblings or children of anyone who died while serving on active duty.
When you purchase or renew any Indiana license plate, you will pay registration fees and taxes determined by the year and make of your vehicle, and your county of residence. If you purchase or renew a special recognition license plate, you may pay administrative or group fees determined by the organization sponsoring the plate.
Renew your registrations online through myBMV. Registrations may also be renewed at a number of other convenient locations.
Any organization that would like to sponsor a special group recognition license plate must complete and return an application by March 31.

* License plates that are available to renew online may also be renewed at any self-service terminal. If an organization sponsoring a license plate requires an authorization form to renew the plate, the plate cannot be renewed online or at a self-service terminal.
Your plate should have stickers showing the day, month, and year of your next registration renewal, and the county in which your vehicle is registered. Indiana law prohibits license plate frames or covers that obscure stickers, text, or numbers on your plate
