BMV > What To Bring To A Branch > Renew Plates at a Self-Service Terminal Renew Plates at a Self-Service Terminal

When you don't have time to wait for your new license plate or vehicle registration to arrive in the mail, use one of our 36 statewide Self-Service Terminals and leave with your renewed vehicle registration in hand! Most Self-Service Terminals are available 24 hours a day and accept MasterCard and Visa debit or credit cards.

To renew your plates at a Self-Service Terminal, you need to know the type of plate that you are renewing, your license plate number, your Social Security number or Federal identification number, current insurance information, and a valid MasterCard or Visa debit or credit card number. You do not need a registration renewal notice to renew your license plates at a Self-Service Terminal.

You may also change your insurance information, and your address if you have moved within your current county of residence.
