When you apply for a new title or a duplicate title, it can take between four and six weeks for the title to be processed and delivered. However, if you order a speed service title, it will be available on the next business day. All speed service titles are assessed an additional $25 fee.

Delivery of a speed service title may be delayed if the vehicle fails to pass an inquiry in the National Motor Title Information System. When a title is mailed, the BMV cannot guarantee a delivery date. If there is a lienholder on the title, the title will be mailed to the lienholder.

Speed service titles ordered at a license branch

When a speed service title is ordered from a license branch, the title may be picked up one business day later at the Midtown license branch in Indianapolis. Speed service titles may be picked up from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

To pick up a speed service title, you must provide your valid Indiana driver's license or identification card. Speed service titles that are not picked up after one business day will be mailed to the address on the title. You may call (317) 547-3572 to ensure that a title is available.

Speed service titles ordered online

You may order a speed service title online through myBMV. Speed service titles ordered online will be mailed to the address on the title, unless a special mailing address is indicated.
