The Gold Star Family license plate will be available in 2010 to the spouses, parents, siblings, and children of anyone who died while serving on duty in the military – active, Reserve or National Guard.
There will be no additional cost for the Gold Star Family license plate. Regular vehicle registration fees and taxes still apply.
To be eligible for the plate, family members must provide an official DD1300 from the Department of Defense.
This plate will be available at license branches and other customer service locations in 2010.
You will be able to display this plate on passenger cars, trucks up to 11,000 pounds, and recreational vehicles.
Your plate should have stickers showing the day, month, and year of your next registration renewal, and the county in which your vehicle is registered. Indiana law prohibits license plate frames or covers that obscure stickers, text, or numbers on your plate
