A personal myBMV account is a virtual license branch that gives you more information about your records as well as the ability to securely access many services online. You may now renew your license plates online for 2009 and save $5 for each vehicle.

All BMV license branches and reinstatement centers will be closed on Saturday, July 4, for the Independence Day holiday. Customer service locations that are normally open on Mondays will resume regular hours of operation on Monday, July 6. Full-service license branches will open at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7. MyBMV online services and self-service terminals will continue to be available during the holiday. |
Indiana law requires that all text, numbers, and stickers on your license plate be fully visible and cannot be obscured by plate frames or covers.
Recent changes to state law affect probationary drivers who obtain an Indiana driver’s license on or after July 1, 2009. A probationary license is issued to drivers who are 16 or 17 years old.
Two new specialty license plates honoring Indiana's military service members will be available in 2010. The POW-MIA license plate remembers all Hoosier veterans who are missing in action or listed as prisoners of war and will be available to any Indiana motorist. The Gold Star Family license plate commemorates Indiana's fallen heroes and will be available to spouses, parents, siblings or children of anyone who died while serving on active duty.
