Traffic Occupant Protection Strategies Instructor Training

This course is a modified version of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration course. The TOPS instructor training is a five hour course intended to provide the instructor with the necessary training to conduct the TOPS Basic class for in-service training. The TOPS Basic class is meant to be a four hour training focusing on officer safety in his/her vehicle; crash dynamics; Indiana's occupant protection laws and enforcement efforts; and how to inform the public of your efforts.

Each participant in your training should have a manual. To order these, contact the Traffic Safety division.
