The Victim Services Division is responsible for implementing programming for crime victims throughout Indiana. Services are defined as efforts that respond to the emotional and physical needs of crime victims, assist primary and secondary victims of crime to stabilize their lives after victimization, assist victims to understand and participate in the criminal justice system, and provide victims of crime with a measure of safety and security. Responsible for allocating and managing Federal dollars granted to Indiana from the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) and Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), the Victim Services Division's primary purpose is generating money to programs that provide direct services to crime victims through programs that offer a variety of services based on specific victim needs.
2010 National Crime Victims' Rights Week Project Funding Opportunity
The National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrators (NAVAA), through a grant from the Office for Victiims of Crime (OVC), is offering funding to aid 60 communities in conducting public awareness inititiatives during National Crime Victim's Right Week for 2010 (April 18-24). This year's theme will be Crime Victims' Rights: Fairness. Dignity. Respect.
The deadline for the OVC 2010 National Crime Victims' Rights Week Community Awareness Project funding is Monday, October 26th. You can apply for up to $5,000 to promote your 2010 NCVRW activities, and receive access to a number of resources to help you enhance your victim outreach and community awareness initiatives.
