The Indiana Adoption Program is a statewide initiative to find forever families for Indiana’s foster children. There are 18 Adoption Champions (ACs) located throughout Indiana to help inform the community of the need for adoptive homes and to help identify families for waiting children. There are three types of events offered to the various regions—Adoption Educational Events, Adoption PR Events, and National Adoption Day Events. All events below are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted. At each event, the ACs discuss the need for adoption, the type of children waiting to be adopted, special needs of the adoptive children, and the adoption process. Educational Events provide information and materials in hope of recruiting forever families. Adoption PR events are typically located at community festivals or gatherings. National Adoption Day Events take place in November (National Adoption Month). They recognize and celebrate the families and children who have come together through adoption, as well as create a greater awareness about the need for adoptive families in Indiana.
If you have any questions about the events or would like to know how to become more involved, please contact Anna Wolak at 317-545-5281 (Ext. 229) or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
