The time to take responsibility for your family and community is BEFORE a disaster strikes. Local responders could be overwhelmed in a catastrophic event in your community. Emergency workers could take up to 3 days or more to reach you.

Four Steps to Family Preparedness


Become informed with all the possible disasters in your area. Learn what to do, what to look for, and what to avoid.

You will make a plan that includes all the members of your family. This step will help ensure that each member of your family is on the same page should a disaster strike.

Making a disaster kit is easy and could be a life-saving task. You will learn how to make one, what to include, and how to maintain it.

Getting involved in your local community is a great way to help out each other and even save lives. Learn what programs are available and how to enroll.
