January 5-9, 2014 - Severe Snowstorm

Indiana Request to FEMA - March 6, 2014

Indiana requested Public Assistance grants from FEMA for governments and certain non-profit organizations in 49 counties.

Counties: Allen, Benton, Blackford, Boone, Carroll, Cass, Clay, Clinton, DeKalb, Delaware, Elkhart, Fountain, Fulton, Grant, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Huntington, Jasper, Jay, Johnson, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Lake, LaPorte, Madison, Marion, Miami, Montgomery, Morgan, Newton, Noble, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Rush, Shelby, Sullivan, Tipton, Vanderburgh, Vermillion, Vigo, Wabash, Warren, Wells, White and Whitley.

Result - FEMA denied assistance on March 31 claiming the damage from this event was not beyond the capabilities of the state.

State Appeal - April 8, 2014

Indiana filed an appeal with FEMA to provide Public Assistance to governments and certain non-profit organizations in 49 counties.

Counties: Same as above

Result - FEMA granted Public Assistance to 30 counties: Allen, Blackford, Boone, Clay, Clinton, Fulton, Hamilton, Hendricks, Huntington, Jasper, Johnson, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Lake, Madison, Marion, Montgomery, Morgan, Newton, Noble**, Owen*, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Tipton, Vanderburgh*, Vigo, Wabash, White and Whitley**.

All counties except Owen and Vanderburgh (designated by asterisk) also will receive 48 hours of snow assistance. Noble and Whitley counties (designated by two asterisks) will be provided 72 hours of snow assistance.

 

November 17, 2013 - Severe Weather and Tornadoes

Indiana Request to FEMA - December 4, 2013

Indiana requested Individual Assistance grants from FEMA for individuals and small businesses in Howard County.

Result - FEMA denied assistance on December 11, 2013.

State Appeal - December 23, 2013

Indiana filed an appeal with FEMA to provide Individual Assistance to individuals and small businesses in six counties.

Counties: Boone, Daviess, Fountain, Grant, Howard and Tippecanoe.

Result - FEMA denied the appeal on January 7, 2014.

Indiana Request to U.S. SBA - January 30, 2014

Indiana requested low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) be made available to citizens, small business owners, and non profits in Daviess, Fountain, and Howard counties. Contiguous counties would also qualify for the loans.

Counties: Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Daviess, Dubois, Fountain, Grant, Greene, Howard, Knox, Martin, Miami, Montgomery, Parke, Pike, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Vermillion, and Warren

Result - SBA granted low-interest loans to those that qualified in Daviess, Fountain, and Howard counties. Contiguous counties were also eligible.

 

April 17-23, 2013 - Severe Weather and Flooding

Indiana Request to U.S. SBA - May 7, 2013

Indiana requested low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration be made available to citizens, small business owners, and non profits in Grant, Howard, and Tipton counties. Contiguous counties would also qualify for the loans

Counties: Blackford, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Delaware, Grant, Hamilton, Howard, Huntington, Madison, Miami, Tipton, Wabash and Wells.

Result - SBA granted low-interest loans to those that qualified in Grant, Howard, and Tipton counties. Contiguous counties were also eligible.
