Becoming A Project WET Facilitator
A facilitator provides a network of volunteers to conduct teacher workshops. These people are the local contacts for schools, youth, organizations,
etc. who want information on the program or want to attend a workshop. Thus, facilitators need to be located in all areas of the state. A facilitator directory will assist facilitators in supporting
each other by collaborating on promotional efforts and workshops.
Being a Project WET facilitator means that you are not really a teacher nor are you a leader. A facilitator serves as a guide,
helping workshop partipants gain a better understanding about Project WET, its use, and potential impact on children's environmental/conservation awareness and understanding.
Facilitators will help participants make their own observations, interpretations, and conclusions about Project WET, and to assist them in discovering the potential Project WET holds for them as educators. A facilitator must put their biases and interests aside. This is particularly difficult since many of the issues and WET activities used and discussed touch important aspects in our own lives.
