As we continue our search for new concessionaire contractors, the saddle barns at Fort Harrison State Park and McCormick’s Creek State Park will be temporarily closed.

Fort Harrison Saddle Barn

Indiana State Park Saddle Barns offer trail rides, pony rides and hay rides. Many offer lessons, scout badges, gift certificates, birthday parties, corporate outings, campfire programs and other services.

Saddle barns are open at least weekends April and May, daily from Memorial Day Weekend through mid-August, then at least on weekends through October. Hours may be extended as weather permits, so call the location you’d like to visit for specific services and hours of operation.

All saddle barns are operated by independent contractors.

    Children must be 7 years or older to ride the trails.

    Starting Nov. 25, open Friday-Sunday only (weather permitting)
    10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    Rules

    Helmets required for all riders younger than age 18.
    Trail riders must be age 7 or older.
    Staff-guided pony rides offered for ages 2-7.

    Price $36 - 3.3 miles (60 minutes) $1 discount for cash
    $26 - 2.2 miles (35 minutes) $1 discount for cash
    $6 per pony ride lap - $1 discount for cash
    $16 - 3 pony ride laps - $1 discount for cash
    Hayrides

    Hayrides will resume spring 2026.

    $33 – trail riders must be at least 8 years old and 52 inches tall ($3 discount for cash)
