AML Contractors and Bidding

Vendors seeking work with the State of Indiana are grouped in to two broad categories: Contractors and consultants (or Architectural and Engineering (A&E) firms). Most Department of Natural Resources projects are contracted through the Indiana Department of Administration (IDOA), Public Works Division. Exceptions to this are projects involving public roads and parking areas, which are usually bid through the Indiana Dept. of Transportation (INDOT).

Construction

Division of Reclamation project bid information is included with other DNR projects on the Division of Engineering’s webpage.

Construction projects are broken in to categories by estimated project cost. Dependent upon their projected cost category, they carry differing bidding and public notification and advertising requirements. Following is a breakdown of categories:

Engineer’s Estimate of More than $150,000 – prospective bidders must be pre-qualified by the IDOA: Public Works Division. DNR projects are posted on the IDOA, Division of Public Works or INDOT websites. They are also published in various media.

Engineer’s Estimate Below $150,000 – no pre-qualification requirements, and not advertised. This work is administered by the sponsoring property or Division field office. It is recommended interested parties contact the property, or field office directly.

Design

Any firm seeking design, or architectural and engineering (A&E) work for the Department of Natural Resources must be pre-qualified by the IDOA: Public Works Division. Consultants interested in this type of work for the Division of Reclamation may contact the Restoration Section.
