MEDIA CORRECTION -- The IT-40EZ form itself is correct. There is no error with the form. However, there is an error with a worksheet a small subset of taxpayers may use to complete their IT-40EZ form. (It’s estimated that less than 100 taxpayers will be affected by this error.) Tax-Delinquent Businesses -- Effective Jan. 1, 2010, Indiana law will require the Department to post online all businesses whose registered retail merchant certificates (RRMCs) have expired due to nonpayment of delinquent sales tax. To view the list, click here.
New Electronic Filing Requirement -- Effective Jan. 1, 2010, all new businesses that collect sales and withholding taxes in Indiana will be required by law to file these tax types using INtax. For more information, click here.

E85 Deduction -- The Indiana State Budget Agency has determined that no sales tax deduction for the retail sale of E85 will be allowed during the reporting periods beginning Jan.1, 2010 and ending March 31, 2010. The deduction is being suspended because there are not sufficient funds available in the E85 Deduction Reimbursement Fund. For more information, visit

Marion County Innkeepers’ Tax -- Effective Sept. 1, 2009, the Marion County Innkeepers’ Tax, which includes the city of Indianapolis, will increase from 9 percent to 10 percent for the rental of accommodations provided for less than 30 days in Marion County.
