If you are eligible for M.E.D. Works, you must be engaged in a substantial and reasonable work effort. In the unfortunate event that you involuntarily lose employment, you may continue to be eligible for M.E.D. Works if:

  • You are on a temporary medical leave,
  • You request a continuance within 60 days of termination of employment,
  • You maintain connection to the workforce (such as participating in a vocational rehabilitation program, registration with Workforce Development, participating in transition from school to work, or are participating with an approved provider of employment service),
  • You pay premiums (if required), and
  • You continue to meet eligibility requirements for M.E.D. Works

If you are no longer eligible for M.E.D. Works, your Division of Family Resources (DFR) case worker will review your information to see if you are eligible for Medicaid under other Medicaid categories.
