Pursuant to Article 5, Section 18 of the Indiana Constitution and Indiana Code, the Governor of the State of Indiana has the authority to fill judicial vacancies as they occur in the state.

Current Vacancies

Marion County Superior Court Judicial Vacancy
The Governor's Office is now accepting applications for Marion County Superior Court Judge due to the resignation of Judge Robert Altice, effective September 1, 2015. All applications must be completed and returned to the Governor's Office by the close of business on August 11, 2015. As required by IC 33-33-49-30(d), the successor must be a member of the same political party as Judge Altice who is a Republican. The Governor’s Office is also accepting recommendation letters for this vacancy during this time period.
