Indiana Governor Mike Pence

A Message from Governor Mike Pence

Governor PenceThank you for your interest in learning more about the Governor’s Fellowship Program. The call of public service is something each and every one of us should heed at some point in our lives. I am glad you are heeding that call with an application to participate in the Governor’s Fellowship Program. Indiana State Government is filled with many great public servants, and the Governor’s Fellowship allows you to learn from these individuals in a professional work environment. Working alongside those with experience in public service gives each fellow the ability to develop the needed skills to be successful in a future career and to impact Indiana in a positive way.

This is an exciting time for the Hoosier State. Together, we can build a more prosperous future and open doors of educational opportunity for all our kids. I know the best for our state is yet to come. We are looking for applicants like you to continue to achieve great things for Indiana.

Pence Sig

What is the Governor’s Fellowship Program?

The Governor’s Fellowship provides a unique experience in Indiana State Government. The program is highly selective, recruiting talented young men and women from across the state who have been out of college for less than a year and who will serve in various State agencies on a rotating basis over the course of a year. Fellows, who are full-time and paid, participate in the daily activities of State Government, complete special projects, and experience firsthand how policies are made.

Governor’s Fellows work in a variety of settings. Many of those who have participated as Governor’s Fellows over the past two decades have gone on to successful careers in both the public and private sector- some serving at the highest levels of local, State, and federal government. They have taken from their fellowship a solid understanding of the workings of government and have gained experience in a variety of areas. At the same time, fellows have been able to give back to the state through their year of public service.
