Daily Update – Day 25

September 27, 2005

 

Mission Assignments:

  • The third deployment of medical personnel for Operation Hoosier Relief will leave Indiana at 6am from Stout Field in Indianapolis.  The remainder of the third deployment is currently en route or will be departing throughout the week from various locations in the state.

 

§         Indiana Department Natural Resources Conservation Officers are now assisting search and rescue teams from Georgia, Tennessee and Rhode Island to reach areas inaccessible by foot.  DNR transported these teams by airboat, johnboat, and ATV in areas around Bay St. Louis to look for missing victims.

 

  • The law enforcement teams continue to handle routine patrols and respond to specific calls for assistance.  The teams have been very busy in recent days.  Below is a summary from one day of patrols.

  • The medical team established a new clinic at a church west of Camp Indiana.  The team treated approximately 780 patients and dispensed 210 vaccinations.

 

  • Hoosier Helper crews traveled 413 miles and made 52 stops to provide assistance and investigate abandoned vehicles.
