Since it was installed in 1995, the St. John Township School District #2 historical marker has experienced extreme weathering that removed most of the marker's original paint.
Fortunately, Joseph Govert, Schererville's former Fire Chief, volunteered to refurbish this marker.
Mr. Govert (pictured above reinstalling the marker) did an excellent job and the marker looks brand new.
